Super fishing on lake Vänern!
During the last year or so many people have heard that the salmon- and trout fishing in lake Vänern in South Sweden have been under it´s normal standad. But with increased stocking of salmon and trout over the last years it is NOT true, the fishing is better then ever!
Here´s a short report from captain Ove Johansson from guide service CharterFiske ::: "Yesterday it was time for the premiere fishing trip on lake Vänern, trolling for landlocked salmon and trout. Beautiful spring weather and hunting salmon, what more could you ask for? After a summary of the day we were able to count 10 fish in the boat with a top fish of 7.4 kg! Most of the fish were released back to into the lake. Already looking forward to the next round, scheduled for Friday."

CatchMore season 2012 summary
From mr Kari Danielsson of guide company CatchMore we have got the following report:
Summary of fishing year 2012 // We started fishing in March, it was an incredibly good fishing, 13 first fishing trips resulted in pike over 100 cm, with four pikes at most, over 100 cm. Then came May, which will be a safe pike month, it was the worst May fishing I have experienced in all my years fishing. Got an explanation later, it had apparently come in very cold water in the Baltic Sea, which never happened before. In total there were lot over 1,000 pikes 2012 by myself and guests, of which 61 or 62 were over 100 cm. We got so many pike over 90 cm as well, so pike fishing in 2013 will be very interesting. Walleye and perch fishing was a little on the side of this year, but it came up fine Zander and perch "perch of 2.4 kg was pulled from a friend just 200 meters from the camp. Unfortunately we did not get up the largest pike, appreciate it to 125-130 cm but we have high hopes for season 2013!

Big pike from the ice
Again we can report some nice pike caught by Lapland fishingguide Marcus Teilus. He writes;
After som film, photos,weigh and measure, we could establish that my first 10+ pike from the ice fishing was caught. 10,98 kilo divided on 117 cm. A huge head, accompanied by a nice belly with a thinner grown second part of the pike. The joy is total when the fish is swimming back like nothing had happened.

Salmon trolling high season
At the moment the salmon trolling in the south Baltic Sea is just incredible, with lots of fish and big ones! Above a picture from AbelFishing and guests from the last couple of days. Most of the salmons are released back into the sea, and just a few fish are brought back home.
