Älvkarleby first salmons

The first salmons of the season is now landed in Älvkarleby, the lower salmon stretch of river Nedre Dalälven. The first two fish were nice, frech salmon weighting 6 and 10 kgs. 

West coast mackrell

The first shools of mackerell has now showed up on the west coast of Sweden, and good catches has been reported from several places. Anglers fishing from the shore has also been successful which is quite rare this early in the season. Normally the best time is from late june to the end of september. Mackrell is a fast swimmer and good sport on light tackle, and very nice to eat, preferably fried or smoked.

Nice west Sweden pikes!

Journalists Thijs van Aalst and Franklin Broeckx from dutch Publishing House is this week fishing with guide Sassi Wemmer in region Sjuhärad in west Sweden. The big lakes are still quite cold but in the smaller lakes they have good action on shallow water baits. All anglers have caught pike over +100 cm, very nice!

Great pike fishing!

From both Nedre Dalälven and Blekinge we get reports about good pike fishing and some really nice specimens! Dragsö Fishing Camp news

From Dragsö Fishing Camp outside Karlskrona we have the following news to report ::::::   We're in the middle of high season for spring fishing and pikes are really dancing with us at the moment. Fortunately, all boats are working well now and all of them are out for a couple of more weeks. We do have packages left from May 25th if interested, this is in my opinion one of the best weeks to fish for pikes in our area. This week we have several returning guests but also some groups who visit us for their first time. At the moment we're holding fishing guests from Ukraine, Poland, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland and more to come on Saturday from France and Latvia. Amounts of pike is mostly good and variates from 10-40 pikes in each boat per day. Temperatures has rised a lot lately so we do have up to 16-17 degrees in shallow areas at the moment. This has also started the invasion of hornpikes, who already has been caught in the waters around Dragsö. With light equipment and small spoon lures, they're actually very fun to fish for as a break from catching the regular pikes. According to personal experience and what the reports are telling me about, blue/white lures (herring colour) are catching best at the moment. This concern both jerkbaits and softbaits. Nice report yesterday from Jesper who belongs to Karlskrona fishingteam 'Gäddstaun' texted me about an insane evening fishing on his own. Approx 30 pikes and two individuals with a weight of +6kg! CatchMore 12+ kg pike

From fishing guide company CatchMore by bay Slätbaken we get the following report :::::: A gang of Belgium anglers was here for three days of fishing, they claimed that they were just beginners ?! but wanted to have a chance at bigger fish, guided the first day, we fished pretty quickly because get to try as many places as possible, 8-9 pike in the boat for lunch, then came a real mischief weather with thunderstorms in 3-4 hours fishing died completely. The following day they went and fished the judgment of the great places on their own, after big pike. And manages to get a monster pike, unfortunately, they're not weighed the fish, and the measurement was not 100%, definitively 12 kg by far, should be at 115+ cm One must form their own opinion, but great is it. Just have to CONGRATULATE JAN to this fine fish. Incredibly well done, race day in uncharted waters themselves and get such a nice fish, beginner "never" they drew their first zander also 6-7 fish but no monsters. Now you got something to chew on, will not be easy to beat. Other boat with 2 guest from Poland catch 97 and 98 cm pike same day.
