Lower temperatures - Big pikes!

For internationell passionated pike freaks, springtime and summer might often be the "target season" when fishing for pikes in Sweden. As for myself, October is my favorite month hunting down the big green predator in southern Sweden. Reaching temperatures around 9-10 degrees celsius gives you great opportunities with oversized baits and medium fishing pace.
The weather can be a little bit rough if you are used to "t-shirt conditions", but it´s so worth it! Bays and drop-offs with weeds attract the larger kinds of baitfish, for example bream. I use slow sinking tails and some "magnum" rubber baits to scan the drop offs and deeper water, while the shallow areas is best targeted bit big jerkbaits and cranks. Great fishing! Hard hits! And big pikes in perfect condition! That´s what October is all about... I´ll keep the reports comin´!
